Game over for PC as cloud age gathers momentum

Personal computers are losing their place at the top of the technology food chain according to Gerhard Nagele who writes Cloud age begins as PC era fades at the Gen-i blog.

Nagale, who leads the technology company’s cloud practice says as smartphones and tablets become more powerful and as applications and services move to the cloud, the end is in sight for the familiar desktop computer.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this is the way Microsoft, which continues to dominate PC software has embraced the cloud. For me, this is the clincher.
