Speaking after yesterdays Windows Phone 8 launch at Telecom’s Auckland headquarters, Telecom chief executive retail Chris Quin said the latest smartphones mean many people will soon move from three to two devices.
In his case he said that means a tablet and a smartphone. Some people will be able to do everything they need to with just a phone.
This is bad news for PC makers like Dell and HP who dominated the old world, but failed to capitalise on the move to mobile devices.
While PCs aren’t going to disappear overnight, we are past peak PC.
