NZ Tech Podcast 230: Security, Hi-Tech Awards, Lily Drone, Samsung wide screen

I’m on the NZ Tech Podcast with host Paul Spain and guest Bryce Boland, Asia Pacific CTO at FireEye.

This week’s recording is a small departure from the usual format thanks to our guest. We discuss insights into security attacks from both covert organisations and nation states – including North Korea’s 1000s of paid hackers.

Elsewhere on the agenda was the Lily ‘follow me’ Drone. The demonstration video showing the drone following people is incredible, but there’s a twist. Lily would like customers to pay up front and the drones aren’t scheduled to ship until February next year, that’s asking people to take a huge punt on an unproven company.

We also discuss Xero’s new announcement, this year's NZ Hi-Tech Awards and Samsung’s widest screen yet – the Samsung S34E790C with an aspect ratio of 21:9.
