You can hear me with Paul Spain and Ed McKnight on the NZ Tech Podcast episode 345.

We talk about the world’s largest lithium-ion battery which is heading to South Australia.

Tesla and the South Australian government announced plans a 100-megawatt (MW) battery system to be installed at the Hornsdale Power Reserve. The site is being built in partnership with French renewable energy company Neoen, The battery is designed to improve grid stability and provide backup power in a region prone to blackouts. The battery, connected to Neoen’s Hornsdale Wind Farm, helps store excess renewable energy and can respond to demand fluctuations within milliseconds, making it a key step in the transition to a more reliable and sustainable power grid.
