The short version: Mulit-national card companies have struggled to impose their ticket-clipping on New Zealanders in recent years because of our excellent Eftpos system. Now they are tempting us with an easy-to-use contactless cards — a move that could ultimately end up adding to the cost of almost everything.

  1. I have heard they are like credit cards in the fees and costs. My card has it but I make a point to never use it. If I wasn’t so lazy I might find a way to disable it.
