“Not everyone is feeling the pinch” writes Jon Henley at Britain’s The Guardian newspaper as he interviews a handful of lucky people who are thriving in the recession.

Some of his credit crunch winners owe their good fortune to Britain’s place on the edge of Europe and outside the Euro currency zone. For example, it’s unlikely upmarket car dealers or the posh shops in Australia or New Zealand are having a good time at the moment. Likewise, while the cynic in me says lawyers do well whatever the economic climate, I doubt antipodean regulatory lawyers are having it any better than usual.

On the other hand, things do seem to look good for our farmers.

Are there any other groups of people in Australian and New Zealand who are having a good recession?
