In a statement to the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) Chorus says its UFB network roll-out is running ahead of schedule.

The telecommunications infrastructure company says on March 31 its fibre network had passed 228,000 premises. It says that means 297,000 end-users are within reach of ultra-fast broadband.

The company says on the same day there were 35,000 fibre connections on its nationwide network: “Although some of this increase included trial lines not previously billed”. Chorus says about 18,300 fibre connections are within its completed UFB network footprint.
