Chromebook Pixel, just jewellery
Lifehacker Australia takes a quick look at Google’s Chromebook Pixel. The review describes it as expensive and pointless.
It may be useful for people who work for Google or resell Google products. For everyone else it is just a fancy adornment. You can buy computers running the same OS with similar performance for less than 20 percent of the price of a Pixel.
This reminds of the prominent New Zealand technology executive who years ago said Compaq was an expensive brand that only existed to make people look good — a fancy adornment. In other word’s he said it was "just high-tech jewellery".
That description suits the Chromebook Pixel. You buy it for show. Nothing else.
