Apple delivered on its promise of a mid-November launch for the iPad Mini with Retina display overnight. There was little razzamatazz, but the models are already on sale in Apple’s New Zealand online store.
Significantly New Zealand prices for the new iPad Mini with Retina models are only slightly higher than US prices when exchange rates and GST are taken into account. Given most US states add a local sales tax – usually in the 5 to 10 percent range, it means we pay the same as a Americans for the iPad Mini. See the table below.
The original iPad mini is still on sale at NZ$450 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and NZ$649 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + cellular model.
Updated: To note US sales tax.
